An anthology of visionary eco-feminist sci-fi writings, selected from the oldest to the newest literary works of the genre, will constitute a network of worlds that intersect and overlap. Composed, hybrid bodies that inhabit this web can travel with ease through these utopias and dance their way through the “blazing worlds”, navigating them in order to link them into a choreographic work.
The performers in Blazing Worlds will explore historical utopian bodies in order to find the visionary force that animated them. There have been, and there will be, times when people start to imagine better worlds, not to escape reality but rather to find the force to re-imagine the present, in action. Through this embodying emancipatory practice, Blazing Worlds will find the drive to imagine and experiment with possible futures in an environmentally engaged dance performance.
